SHOUTcast DJ Switching

Cloud DJ has 2 exciting new features now available, the ability to switch to a live DJ from the Auto DJ mode without dropping listener connections is now possible! You connect just the same as connecting to any SHOUTcast server.

After weeks of testing and development, this feature is available to existing Cloud DJ customers at no extra cost and with immediate availability. Just enable the live feature in the new Cloud DJ App section to get started.

This brings additional benefits to most live/automated radio stations:

  1. Firstly, you can connect live and your listeners will hear a smooth crossfade between the automated and live content
  2. Cloud DJ never disconnects from SHOUTcast, so your listeners will stay connected!
  3. If your internet connection drops, Cloud DJ will simply resume playing its autodj content – no need to worry!
  4. When you want to stop broadcasting, again listeners will simply hear a fade back to the automated output.

To find out more about how switching works, take a look at the following video…

If you’re an existing customer, you can view our setup tutorials and get started right away:

DJ Switching will be improved very shortly with some exciting new premium features, including multiple DJ profiles with individual username and passwords! Keep checking for more.

      Great work!

I would start back at the ground again James – the system allows 2 or more djs to link to the live event stream which then gives you the output to your listeners of the cloud because it starts to broadcast the cloud auto dj. The original live show is messed up.
There is no fail safe that allows only ONE DJ to stream as a’ Live Event’ at any one time.
      More testing needed.
When a Live Event timed schedule is given to a dj it should then not allow anyone else to try and start streaming.

      Hi,

The problem here is that you are using a single DJ account with multiple users, the idea is that you have an account per DJ (although we have not yet fully developed this part).
When the multiple DJs feature goes live then different DJs have different accounts (as it is intended to be used). You will also be able to set a priority on live events, that way DJ A will not be able to disrupt DJ B’s live stream (unless DJ A’s event has a higher priority).

Hope this answers some of your concerns.

Thanks – that makes sense and we now fully understand.
We could not find any ‘help pages’ regarding this issue or an FAQ data base to ask questions about this matter and when left in the dark one panics.
